PMGR: Data Practice Through the Lens of American Indian/Alaska Native Communities-Audio Description

The November 2022 Preventive Medicine Grand Rounds (PMGR) features Ms. Abigail Echo-Hawk who presented research and data techniques of indigenous knowledge systems used to decolonize data, which involved collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data through the perspective of Indigenous communities. Ms. Echo-Hawk shared an Indigenous framework that identifies strength-based activities and protective factors and illustrates how to describe disparities in health outcomes, behaviors, and risk factors in ways that benefit tribal communities in both rural and urban settings.
